
Corporate Governance of Artevo
The Board of Directors of Artevo Corporation believe that good corporate governance improves corporate performance and benefits all shareholders. The board of directors are elected annually and consist of the following individuals:
Mr. Christopher Talbot
Calgary, Alberta
President, Chief Executive Officer, Secretary and Director of Artevo Corporation, and
President of Power Play Art Ltd., since February 2000.
Mr. Talbot has an extensive 35 year career in sales, marketing and promotion, in that time he has owned and/or operated a wide range of businesses and has pioneered many innovative changes within the business world. Some of his most notable accomplishments include extensive real estate development and securing the
Maserati franchise in Sydney, Australia. Mr. Talbot was also heavily involved within the oil business
where he created the largest seismic database in Canada. Mr Talbot is a professional photographer and his life long passion of collecting fine art
has enabled him to establish global connections within the art world.
Mr. Andrew Searby
Mr. Searby graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Management with Distinction (Major in Accounting) in 1985. Mr. Searby then earned his Chartered Accountant designation with Coopers & Lybrand in Calgary, scoring in the top decile nationally. Searby has extensive experience with accounting, auditing and taxation issues facing small and large clients in diverse industries including manufacturing and processing, service, agriculture, retail, government, and oil and gas.
Mr. Charles Burgess
Mr. Burgess is a barrister and solicitor, having been called to the Alberta Bar in 1988. Mr. Burgess has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Cum Laude) from the University of Ottawa. His legal practice has focused exclusively on corporate taxation and securities law. He has been the President of Mana Investments Inc., a private venture capital company, since 1999.
Mr. John R. Houghton
Admitted to the Law Society of Alberta in 1978 and during his 29 year career has been a partner with MacKimmie Matthews and Ernst and Young. He is also a court appointed arbitrator and specializes in franchising and licensing law. Mr. Houghton has been a member of many boards and has regularly been involved with public companies. He has also handled numerous cross border transactions, successfully facilitating many franchises into Canada.
